I am really starting to detest viewsonic monitors... everyone gives them decent to great reviews...but I think I shall not buy any more of them.
This is my third viewsonic vx724, vx910, vx922, and EACH of them has suffered major capacitor failure after just under 2 years. my vx922 is still under warranty... and though I might send it back to get it fixed, I could tear it apart and fix it for cheaper. :disgust:
if these manufacturers would use quality capacitors on their boards, this would not be a repeated problem. Search the internet, many a users crying foul over viewsonics chouce of cheap CapXon capacitors.
So now I am at a crossroads... i do lots of dual screen stuff.
I use my dual screens for just about everything.
i run games in both dual screen (larger view area) and/or windowed, so i can multitask(walkthroughs, etc) while gaming.
old games (sim city 4, yuris revenge, railroad tycoon 3, age of empires II, and lots more)
new games (wow, RA3, C&C3)
programming
spreadsheeting
web surfing
problem is... almost nearly ALL new screens are not 4:3 or 5:4 like my older games support. I dont know if I could run many of my current older stuff on dual WS 16:9 / 16:10 24" monitors... im not even sure they would look that great at 1048x768 on a single one...
so what am I to do?
I've read great reviews about Samsungs 2233RZ monitor, but I need some other choices which are less expensive.
dual 2009 5:4 monitors would be great... but I dont think that is gonna happen.
PS: Id like to keep it to UNDER $400 (read closer to $275) EACH... 2 identical monitors for dual screen setup.
I will consider a single 30" if the price is exceptional, and it plays games with 0 lag... but at this point DOUBTFUL...
also things to note:
I DO NOT watch movies on my PC... EVER. I have a glorious 65" 1080P tv for that.
My current Video card is a NV GTX260C216 and windows XP. I like the nview software.
need options and suggestions:
