NEED 2 KNOW FAST: Installing XP home

alright, i have a sealed oem disc for XP home edition, but when i do the setup, (via, insert disc setup, hit a key, wait for setup to load blue screen, it all loads) once its in the setup, it ask's for a 2nd CD, SP2 cd, which i do not have!

Is there any way around this?

ty,

You could try to slipstream SP2 onto the Home image. IIRC it is looking for the file on the root of the CD showing it has the SPx files on that particular image.

They make pre-Service Packed CDs with logos. If for some reason your image is bad, you'll need a replacement. If that's the case, is there anything to hurt by trying to (re)slipstream SP2 on that particular image?

I'm not sure if the hologram image show any references to SP2. I think when we received our CD shipments, with hardware the white envelope had a sticker saying "w/ SP2".
