Hello y'all.

Just to clarify:
I know what search is.
All the recent LCD threads are on 22"+.

I'm looking for a 19" NON-WIDESCREEN lcd. Hopefully it'll be 1280x1024, 75hz and decent contrast/colors. I play quick FPS's so responsiveness and minimal ghosting is what is most important to me.

And no, I'm not getting a CRT.

thinking of getting the Samsung 943BX, but there aren't many reviews. Also considering various monitors from BenQ and LG.

any suggestions would be helpful!

P.S. Please don't suggest something bigger than 19", like a 22". i have played on widescreen 22"s a lot; and i just really like the 5:4 ratio way more.

Good to see another 19" regular-screen user. I don't care for wide-screen monitors either and I'm sick of people posting that a 9800GX2 is wasted on a 1280x1024 monitor. Bung.

I've used this monitor for over a year and it's been trouble-free. 2ms response time, terrific for gaming. No ghosting.

Well it's certainly not a waste if you don't mind flushing money.
 
I've been on the LG L1970HR for about a year and a half, excellent gaming monitor. Really hard to find now though.

When I lengthen my desk by a few feet and reinforce it I may consider a 24" monitor. Maybe🙂
Off-topic, but do you like the Technet subscription? I am planning on purchasing one from MS as I can get 20% off until the end of June. Just debating whether to go for the dvd's or the less expensive download version.
Then I can install Vista and enjoy DX10 gaming on my puny 19" Viewsonic😀

Hey, the money I saved on a 24" monitor I was able to squander on an Nvidia sandwich:laugh:
 
I have two Samsung 940BX's, and I love 'em. They have zero ghosting, and nice, vibrant colors. I was leary of LCD's for gaming, but these changed my mind.

That's what i'd be searching for.

Not likely going to be dirt cheap though, but it was easily my favorite 1280x1024 display.
