Hi,
I'm going to be buying 2 new 17" monitors and need some suggestions on what brands I should be getting and what I should look for.
I'm running: AMD Athlon 750 @ 750 | Win 2000 SP2 | Matrox G400 Millenium Dual Head 32 MB| 640 MB SDRAM
The main programs I use are Internet Explorer & Office XP. I also do some digital photography and would like a nice crisp monitor to edit my photos with Adobe Photoshop 6.0. I guess I would need the resolution to be at LEAST 1280 X 1024 (36 bit). I don't think I'd ever turn up the resolution to 1600 x 1200 but it would be nice to be able to do that in the future if I ever needed to. I usually run at 1024 X 768 36 bit color. I'd like to get a flat display CRT as well.
Ideally I'd like the monitors to last 5-7 years. I'd like to stay in the $200 - $250 range for each monitor. Now the help I need is:
What brands should I be looking to (Viewsonic, Samsung, etc)
What particular model numbers are good?
What sync rate & dot pitch would be good for my use?
Thanks.
