I can not find drivers for an Adaptec 2940u2w and Windows XP. I have a new install from retail disks and cannot find the driver. Adaptec's web page just tells me use the Microsoft windows driver that came with the windows install. Can some one please HELP!!!!! What is the .cab file with the driver? Where can I find a driver. Microsoft does not have one for download.

Thanks for any help you can give.

What problem are you having? XP should just detect the adapter and install the driver.

I have this card and Windows XP -- there is no driver necessary. My two HDs are on the card and I installed of an IDE cdrom. It worked just fine.

Sounds like there is something wrong with your Windows XP. All installs of Windows XP has that that driver built into the OS, so it has the driver as the default install set. If you go to Adaptec's site, there isn't a driver download for it because Windows XP has the driver built in. If your XP can't find the driver for that card, you should try a different install medium.
