I just got home from my work XMas party and decided to install DX8 and the 7.17 drivers from NVidia and I am a little shocked. Here are my system specs:
Athlon TBird 750 @ 1100 MHz (100 x 11)
256 MB Mushkin Rev 2 @ 133 CAS2
NVidia GeForce 2 (OEM) @ 210/380
Win2k Prof (with all Via and AGP patches)
Abit KT7 (no RAID array)
Using the approved NVidia reference drivers I was getting in the 5500 range on 3dmark2k, now I am getting around 7500. Not only that but there was a BIG difference on the smoothness factor, way better with 7.17.
My main question is has anyone else experienced the same? I ran 3dmark 3 times because I couldn't believe my eyes, now I want verification from the Forums I trust. Thanks for any info.
