USB 3 card

This is really the only one i could find that has a header and usb 3.. saw a lot of via ones.. Basically I want to put a 3.5 media reader with this as controller..

NEC Chipset Renesas D720201

thanks... it looks like the cable from one of those reader is 2 ft long or something... they dont sell extenders do they

I have had very good luck with Renesas chipset compatibility. Intel would be second choice, Intel does not make a discrete controller though, and gets a few points deducted for not having drivers available for Vista/XP.

Coincidently AMD uses a rebranded Renesas USB3 controller in their chipsets.

Others are pretty hit-and-miss. Be sure you're using the latest drivers for your controller, as older versions can cause all sorts of weird issues...

station-drivers.com is a pretty good place to find that latest driver BTW.
