I won't invest in either until there is a combo drive that reads/writes/rewrites both formats for $200 or less.

Consumer electronics gear could only be invested in if it could somehow be sold short :p

I would happily snap up a Blu-ray only burner for $200 now since HD-DVD capacity is relatively small (though HD DVD-RAM may be a compelling reason to go that way). They are already cheaper than UDO but still beyond a justifiable price for me; yet the seeming media price per GB premium over HDDs is really minimal to nil considering independence from device failure (and thus requirement of at least duplicate HDDs). I care less about the retail movie formats but am glad for the universal use of AVC.

I'll take a HD-DVD burning+Blueray+DVD-/+R(W)+CD-R+anything I left out for $50.

Until it hits $50 like current DVD-R's models, I ain't going for it.
(call me cheap if you want :p)

Maby I'll go to $100.
And the drive better be FAST.

My definition of "shipped" means I am able to buy it today. Not maybe 300,000 by April of '07.
