NEC ND-3520A in Win 7

I am having trouble getting the NEC ND-3520A DVDROM to function under Windows 7.
The device manager is reporting it as "This device cannot start" (code 10).

However, when I bootup via Ubuntu, the device works properly.

Anyone know what may be the cause to the issue in Windows 7? Thanks in advance for the help!

I got it fixed by resetting the BIOS to default.
Thank you for the help though, I did upgrade the firmware in case of future issues.
It's weird how Ubuntu pendrive could circumvent the BIOS setting and use the device while Windows is limited by the BIOS...
