I have not had a DVD burner yet...is this one as good as any of them or are there better ones for abit more money?

It's one of the top burners regardless of price.

Why does Newegg do this to me?

A couple of days ago they had this on sale for $79 and I almost bought it. Now with it at $69, I had to jump on this little hot tamale.

Newegg will put me in the poor house!!

This burner hsa been going down for about a month. About 3 weeks ago this burner was $80.99 and it keeps dropping. In the last week in a half it has dropped in price a dollar or two about every other day. I have been watching it closely because I want it but I do not want to get it till it looks as if it is not going to drop any more. If you are thinking about getting this burner it is great but I would wait a week or two and see how much more you could save.

I've had it for a couple weeks now (bought it for $80). Perfect burns using DVDFab and DVDShrink using stock firmware. I'm aware of the DL firmware, but until the price of the DL media goes down, I have no use for it.

Man, too bad I already bought a new office chair, otherwise I would have to give this some serious thought! Oh well, I got the chair and can't afford this right now

Pretty tempting, especially with the possible dual layer hack (it's still pretty untested, and not even sure it will work on all 2500a's).

forum.rpc1.org also has a region free/speed limit removal/better media support hacked firmware, if you chose not to go with the DL hack.

I dunno why there haven't been any 4x deals, like an A06 for $45 or something. I guess there's no remaining stock of 4x drives, or they don't want cheap DVD+-RW's to take a piece of the CD-RW/DVD-ROM market.....?
