For the NEC LCD2690WUXi, in order to use the EU version of SpectraView (SpectraView Profiler), you have to unlock SpectraView in the OSD of the monitor.

It used to be that you could do this in the Advanced Menu, under Tag E, by pressing Select + Down. However, recent versions of the monitor can no longer be unlocked in this manner.

Does anyone know how to do it in the newer models?

Sorry, I'm not sure.

How do you get the EU version of the software though and how does it differ? My US version worked on my non-Spectraview SKU though.

(I mean I wonder if it's possible to get the EU software if you have a US model or if there's some trial version.)

Well, I don't know about what they say "officially". But you can get the EU software here:

Although you need to register in order to get the download links.

As for the differences, the EU version works with more colorimeters than the US version does, and the design and feature set are a bit different - you can download the manual in order to see the differences in detail.

Some people have had problems with the US version, and have been able to work with the EU version just fine. Personally, I would like the choice, but I can't even experiment until I find the new way to unlock the monitor.

And the SKU doesn't matter - the monitor is the same, it's just whether they bundled the color package with it or not.
