Going to get very good LCD for graphics work - however also use this system for gaming (mainly FPS games) lots as well...

...what you guys think about THIS monitor ?

will it game well also?

the IPS panel just does so much better with color and tones and such for the graphic side of things

found some more about this newer model, seems bit better color - concern left is using it for the gaming part, lag or ghosting as problem... anyone have one of these that also games or seen review of this one?

isn't 60hz really 16ms, this is 8ms gray to gray/16ms btb which should be just fine or no?

I have never had a problem gaming on IPS panels before but that's just me, everyone is different.

If your coming from a CRT then expect some time to adjust, otherwise buy it. Its a nice monitor.

ok cool.
I have the 2690wuxi together with i1 display 2 and the Spectraview software -- it looks amazing. Hope you realized that it is a wide gamut monitor so applications that aren't color aware will be colorful +.
LCDs look best in a brightly lit room. Dark ambient lighting will make blacks look grey.
About as high fidelity as you can get on an LCD without switching to a plasma monitor

Yup I noticed the contrast thing with my NEC 20wmgx2 also with more lighting would look much better.

A little odd because conventional logic would make you think turn off the lights = better!
