I haven't heard much about this display. I remember it was announced sometime back in September.

It's about the same price as the AUO MVA BenQ FP241W panel. I can't really tell from the specifications given on Newegg, but is this a PVA panel? (Given it's price point and naming, I'm guessing it should be).

Other than lack of connectivity options (by that I mean lack of a second DVI or HDMI/DisplayPort port), does anyone have any more info about this display?

Given the response time and the viewing angles, it looks like a TN.

definitely TN. NEC generally is expensive... no $579 nec is going to be anything but TN

Hmm, such a shame. That's quite expensive for a TN panel.

I'm still waiting for a decent 22" VA display to come out. It seems like every 22" panel out there is TN.

Engraver:

I'm fairly sure the WNX is an PVA panel (NEC IPS panels don't go for less than a grand). I was hoping that the WVX was the WNX's (PVA) replacement.

Yeah, the 2470WNX is PVA. The 2490 is the IPS one and that costs around $1500. This WVX model is almost certainly a TN, and considering that, it's rather expensive.

Yep, you are right. It is listed as having a S-PVA panel on tftcentral; if I go for a 24" I may get this one. Debating whether to order this one (and have a chance of returning it if I don't like it) or a 32" Sharp AQUOS (which will probably be better but will more than likely be too big for a desk monitor).

The WNX is still expensive for PVA. I'm pretty sure it uses a Samsung panel. The Samsung 245T goes for about $70 less.

There's an NEC 20WMGX2 open box deal on NEwegg now. Its smaller but for 350 usd its good deal. I have open box 90GX2 from Egg and it was perfect.

how is the build quality compared with the samsung 245T? supposedly the 245T has a cheaper power supply with a variable amount of buzzing....is the NEC more or less quieter?

The most interesting LCD news that stood out for us today would have to be the arrival of the first 22 inch equipped with a PVA panel. This monitor is the Samsung SyncMaster 2263PW

I've noticed that not a single salesperson at computer hardware departments know what a TN panel is. They just say "they're LCD", "What's a TN panel", or something equally ignorant. It kind of pisses me off, they're supposed to be able to sell you what you're looking for, and they're supposed to know their products. AMIRITE?

Anyway, that samsung 2263PW looks very interesting...
