Good... Excellent Image... great monitor... they used to run High in price, but i found one extremely cheap one time for about 230...

You won't be disapointed...

its a very nice monitor, great image quality and controls. I'm running mine at 1600x1200x75hz

the only problem is that it is heavy, about 60lbs.

it kinda sucks having to bring it around to lan partys but its worth it

Oh, and the monitor is totaly flat - vert. and horz.

I was thinking of possibly getting one of these, but wondered how it compares to that Samsung 9xx monitor that everybody seems to love.

I have the same monitor and I love it :). Colors are good imo, with pictures and stuff. Mine is the black version.

pretty good, but low refresh rate ( 85 hz @ 1024*1028) can be a problem

IS 85hz enough, btw? Cus my eyes still get tired after long usage ( couple hours)

or maybe is a crt monitor problem

Ah.. :p forgot to say, it was bought off a friend who was moving to an LCD... but never the less.. Great monitor.. enjoy :)

The FE950+ uses the DiamondTron NF screen, which is the same screen used in the Samsung 900NF, which costs about $40-70 more (depending on where you look). Newegg has the FE950+ for $285 + $41 shipping.

I dont think so

the 900nf (which I should have brought) has a 100hz refresh rate @ 1028*1024

It's not like he's going to run it at 1600x1200...and they both do use the same tube, just one has a refresh rate that is lower. Mitsubishi makes the tube.

It's a nice monitor anyways ;). Hehe

Ummm oops, I don't know if the FE950 uses the same tube but i do know the FE950+ does, the one i have. Y'd you get the FE950 and not the + one? lol.

If you guys want a *great* monitor with super high refresh rates (for around $400), take a look at the NEC FP955.

The NEC FE950+ 19" MultiSync Flat Screen CRT is a very nice montior. I got mine at BestBuy for $274 and with a 3 year best buy warranty in the store so if mine breaks they get me a new one and pay for the shipping. The montior looks very nice. I got a black one because thats the only color they had for it. It was used for one of the Alienware computer they had but they got a new one for it so this one was put on the side. Bestbuy really does not even sell NEC montiors i was just lucky to get it i guess. Sense the NEC montiors at bestbuy are mostly only with the alienware computers. I looked at a Sony 19 inch montior too for $399 but it had the same refresh rates, etc as the NEC but was a lot more expersive and to tell you the truth it did not look as nice as the NEC. Only place that had a NEC montior was Bestbuy too. I went to compusa and circuitcity just to see. I saw a 21 inch sony but that thing was $599. Plus not much more screen. Like 1.6 inchs oh boy thats so much more for $300 to $200 more. No way. Price for the NEC FE950+ 19" MultiSync Flat Screen CRT on the bestbuy website is like $429.99 not sure why. Same specs. The reason i got mine so cheap at $274 is because it was out of the box. But it was not connected. I saw a test of it at the alienware computer with a NEC montior. So sense it was out of the box they gave it too me cheaper. Orginal price was $329.99 i believe.
