I don't know where you're buying from but check into the FE950....

It's a much better monitor.....NEC has lowered the price on it and there is a $50 rebate...

I own the FE700, i must say the image quality is awesome, and having it be flatscreen just makes it all the better.

Just giving my thumbs up for it, cant really comment on the other models.

One is 19", the other is 17". One is SM, the other AG. I dont know your needs and preferences, there is no way I can decide for you.

I got a NEC 95F as an upgrade for my dad for Christmas. It looks OK but I am a little unhappy with the picture quality, especially in text. It should be noted that I use the Sony GDM-F400 19" .22mm (now discontinued) on my computer with a Voodoo 5 5500 at 1280 x 1024 resolution and that is still far superior to the 95F at 800 x 600. The video card on the 95F system is an old ATI Rage Pro--I was going to test it with a Voodoo 3 3000 (fantastic 2D)to see if the Rage card is the problem but havn't done that yet (lazy). Still, at 800 x 600 there should be no issues and yet there is.

The colors are rich and vivid on the 95F and for games should be just fine...still I wouldn't really recommend it...

Oh...I got my 95F at Onvia for $333 and they may still have free shipping I believe. It came Very quick and with no problems a few weeks ago.

GMD-F400 vs AS95F

Comparing a Mercedes-Benz S600 to a Toyota Camry there huh?

True, not quite a fair comparison but it's all I have. Actually, at my old job I used a Dell 19" AG Monitor and I believe that too had better text quality the the 95F (if memory serves me right...and it doesn't always). I guess AG monitors are generally better for text, though there are arguments both ways.

Oh well, guess I'm no help after all...

bye..

Many would actually argue the opposite. But I think it totally depends on your taste, nobody can tell you which is better than which, only your own eyes can.
