Its a great price for that DVD player.. unfortunately there are so many rebate deals going on with different brands its just too tempting to buy one for like $40 after MIR..

Thanks! Just called newegg up and had them credit me $3 back since my order was still in transit with them. I would have jumped on the cheaper deals that are being posted around but I guess I wasn't paying attention to them when I put my order in for this. No big deal tho. $100 is a good buy still.

If you're talking about the OM pacific digital dvd deal for $69.99 or whatever, I wouldn't sweat it too much because rebates aren't always guaranteed and plus it's up in the air on what you are really getting (ie, brand).

Just got the PD ND2500 rebadge Sat at OM for $69 out the door plus $50 rebate.

My first try was my most problematic DVD burn...
Disney's Baby Einstein DVD on my Starlogic 1X cheapo discs using X-Copy Xpress.

This would not burn with my Optorite 8X, BTC 8X, or 811S v.O9.
(It did, however burn with 811S v.OP and played in my Sanyo DVD player.)

With ND2500 it did burn and played in my computer but not in my Sanyo DVD Player. However, everything else has burned fine.

This is the best all around burner.

In this phase of burners, so many are incompatible with media/DVD players/software and this is your best bet to assure that whatever media/software/DVDplayer you have you will have a quality burn.

It is slower but over 100 burns it amounts to only a couple hundred minutes at the most. Now take into consideration that other burners are limited on media/DVD players etc and about 10 of those burns would not even happen and you are saving money and alot more time than 100 minutes.

I read a review of someone who had already done about 500 burns with this and the (*^*&%ing drive was still going strong as ever and not getting the disc hot. (His other burners including Plextor were dead long before 500 burns and they started getting the discs hot.

I'm keeping mine at $20 after rebate. Not getting another untill Dual layer is down below $50.

I am so cheap.

It's very simple to assure you get a NEC @ OM or Staples, Just look at the serial # on the box. If it starts with a 4 and has letters in the serail # it's an NEC.

Still a hot deal nonetheless. I saw this drive a couple weeks ago for $104 at the same site, wanted to get one then, but Im still content with my Pioneer A05. This would make a great gift though...maybe...

I'm about to order my 3rd NEC drive, selling my ND-1300A to a friend so I can upgrade to this one, and I have a 2500A in my gaming rig. Great drives.
