Anyone know when dual layer recorders are due out?

Anyone have a link to some kind of a roadmap to DVD recorders, etc.

from what ive heard, the Ritek DVD-R's are the best media for the money on this burner...also available at newegg ;)

It was $95 yesterday. I know because I have one in my cart and it's $97 now.

I replaced the shady Optorite DD0203 with this NEC 2500a. AMAZING drive. :)

Indeed the best bang for the buck. I'm especially pleased with how quiet this thing is. The tray ejects quietly, writes quietly, and reads quietly.

Ditto. It was a nice surprise for me as well. Quitest cd/dvd drive I have ever used.

I ordered this past Tuesday afternoon with the default free FedEx saver shipping. Arrived yesterday (Thursday) afternoon! Wow this thing is nice. I thought it was dead it was so quiet. In fact, NEC must not want its users to know it's working because the light is always green (I thought they turned amber when burning). Oh well, I am quite satisfied! Thanks for the lead!

Supply and demand....
More people order, they jack up the price a bit.

Is this drive firmware upgradeable for dual layer?? I'm about to jump on it if it is. :)
