NEC 3520A is giving me headaches when trying to read burned DVDs...

My 3250 has been working fine for me for the last 6 months. I installed Nero 6 a few days ago to burn CD's. I also used it to back up a DVD. After I did this DVD backup, I've been having issues reading various burned DVD's, all burned from that same unit.

Symptoms include:
-Explorer labels DVD-RW (G: ) as a CD-ROM, but the icon says DVD-RW.
-When trying to read DVD's from the DVD-RW, i get the ''Insert Disk'' message.
-Nero 6 cannot create backup images from this drive for certain DVDs
-DVD Decrypter shows the DVD as Empty in Read mode, but shows the Disc is Not Empty when in Write mode.
-PowerDVD cannot read the DVD and tells me that ''No disc in drive G:''

Thanks!

Do the burned discs play fine in other DVD drives?

Sounds like perhaps you are leaving some option in question, such as leaving a disc open, or writing in a strange format? If you burn with another app such as Roxio, do the discs read fine in the drive?

The discs were burned and closed a few months ago using the same DVD-RW and have been used on other DVD players already. The drive that created these discs are now having problems reading them.
