I dunno

It's main feature over the NEC ND-2500A is that it supports dual layer DVD(8.5GB) writing and ATM dual layer media is extremely hard to find. It's dual layer writing speed is also slow.

IMO if you don't have to pay a high premium over the 2500A then it's worth it.

It's well priced, but there will be better things on the market by the time DL media becomes widely available. I'm personally waiting for -DL media since I've heard that the +DL discs have major compatibility issues.

premium being so low, might as well buy the newer one. seems almost sure the 2500 will flash to the higher model, but for that little, might as well be sure. course by the time media is cheap enough... you'll probably just buy a faster dl burner:0
