As far as I know NEC and Mitsubishi either jointly produce their CRT's or one of the produces all of them for the other. As for specific models, you're gonna have to give people specific models, not vague "superbright diamondtron" descriptions. I'm pretty sure all or the vast majority of CRT's made by these companies have the superbright diamondtron branding.

Well the PDF files are larger for the Mutisync :p

I think what happened was when the Trinitron no longer had exclusive rights NEC (previously Nippon Electric Company) and Mitsubishi did a joint venture to create the Diamondtron and have been in the same jacuzzi since...They also off branded to the likes of Gateway

However, for those of you who absolutely need perfect color calibration and luminance, hardware calibration is the way to go. Before we do any monitor reviews at AnandTech, we use a ColorVision Spyder to assure what we are seeing on the screen is what was intended to be seen. These devices are expensive, but if your job depends on accurately producing the right values, there is no other option.

for gaming do you need these? do they stay on you monitor. i am guessing they arent but just asking.

I just got my FP2141 today...and all I can say is WOW! I'm running my desktop @ 1600 x 1200 @ 100hz now, and the monitor is crystal clear. Gaming is beautiful with the Superbright mode enabled.

:)
