Can you take off the speakers on the bottom of it, or are you stuck with them? And if that's the case, how do they sound?
 
Yep, you sure can. It doesn't really look any better or worse in my opinion. I don't really like the control panel, but the speakers aren't the best looking aesthetically either, so its a wash.

I don't own one (wish I did), so I can't comment on how it sounds. You don't have to use them though, even if you leave them on the monitor.
