A few weeks ago in my apartment, I had a strange power outage that cause the power to go on and off a few times repeatedly until it finally went out. My computer and monitor was on during this time. This happened on a weekend, so I was without power the whole weekend. The power was finally restored in my apartment on monday, but it took virtually the whole day. I checked all my devices to see if they were working properly. I turned on my computer, and I noticed that something seemed wrong with my monitor. I thought it was the resolution/Hz.. But it wasn't. It appears the screen is set to two different resolution. The upper half looks okay while the bottom portion is small and squished. It is really annoying. I called NEC but they won't do anything because I am 1 month passed the 1 year warranty mark. I called their out of warranty number and their flat rate is $215 plus $85 for shipping. That is stupid because I can get a new one for $289.98. Anyone know a cheap place to fix monitors?
