NEC 16X DVD+-RW ND-3500AG only buring at 4x

Like the title says, using Ridata 8x DVD+R I can only burn at 4x speeds with the drive? Shouldn't I be able get 8x out of these?

Try different media.

Some drives are picky. Might have to try several different brands to find one that you are happy with.

Have you changed the burn speed in the burning softwear to max? Sometimes it will defult to a lower speed. Also try the media in another computer to see if it will burn at 8X as maybe the spindle you got is mislabled and should be 4X speed.

try the latest firmware, that did the trick when my 8x wouldnt burn past 4x
