All possible, they just need to refine the form factor.

Watch stuff works over a 3G cell network.
BlueTooth syncs watch, UMPC, wristbands, other PAN devices.
UWB allows for UMPC video sync to the TV.
GPS/mapping is just a matter of software, and Microsoft's Live Search is already doing street-level snapshots of big cities.
Luxury cars already have "driver profiles" for different seat/wheel/pedal positions, they just need a dash-top OBD port.

It's coming very soon, folks.

I think everything is possible right now...all we need is better batteries. There's no way that Dick Tracy watch will last all day in that form factor. What I want to see is a better user experience, namely tighter integration of multiple systems and better user interfaces. In that commercial, the watch talks to the phone which talks to the TV which talks to the computer. Same interface for the guy everywhere he goes, same data, zero hassle. I think Apple is leading the way right now with Macs, iPods, and the upcoming iPhone. Easy to use, looks pretty, and everything talks to everything else. If only...

I would also like to see a quality singular subscription service for data and entertainment. For example, Rhapsody is a great subscription music service that you can use on your computer, MP3 player, Slim player for your stereo, and so on. But they don't have all the tracks and they don't have the best interface. Microsoft's Xbox IPTV system is looking pretty good too. Mix those together with an interface system like on Robin William's computer in The Final Cut and now we're talking!

Well, then it's not really possible "right now" then is it ... ;)

But I agree. As pointed out, the majority of technology already exists. It's the integration, infrastructure, and standards that need to be put in place. And some better batteries. (Just don't contract Sony to do it. ;))

Though for soldiers in the field, it could make a handy IC grenade. ;)

I think they could do it. iPod interfaces are already in tons of cars...if they added a dock and tied in OBD-II diagnostics and GPS, and maybe set themselves up with a Smart Home company like Vantage Controls or Crestron, they could really make things nice!
