Neat sword was passed down to me, can anyone give me some info about it?

Heh..I'm on dialup, and the pics are great. 😛

My sister says it's an ornamental foil...she thinks. She just said (as she walked out) that it looks like the French version of the Italian foil.. 😕

looks to be a fencing foil. prolly a beginner one cause it doesn't have a pistol grip on it. pretty cool engraving on the handguard though. dunno, can't tell too well wtih the pics. if you live near a big city, take it to a fencing shop, there's bound to be one.

Sounds about right; hard to tell more without a better look. I've got one around here that looks almost exactly like it that I'd picked up for $2.50 at a garage sale. I wouldn't fence with it, though.

Not /all/ fencers use pistol grips. 🙂

Spanish fencing foil forged in Toledo Spain by Tony Swatton out of Damascus steel.

I could tell you more with bigger pics. 😛

i would think even the crappiest webcam could do 320x240, and probably even 640x480 (I've got one I bought for $10 that will)
It's too hard to really make out any details.
