I plowed snow for 16 years and supervised crews for 4.
Sometimes I miss it.
Just noticed that he doesn't have a front plow.

We used to use them but they can be dangerous in the hands of a noob. Catch a bridge joint with the blade and you are going for an unscheduled ride and tearing stuff up.

I've heard that, I think it also accelerates the wear and tear of the road too. It's a trade off between a clear road and deteriorating.
 
Not my plow story, but one time my friend was driving on a road near our house in very icy conditions.
He met a county plow, who lost it right in front of him. The 10 wheeler did a 180 on a two lane county road with deep ditches and little shoulder, and rode the crown of the road around. It never hit the shoulders!
Slim sat there, and the guy put his box up and decided to go back and sand that stretch of road 😛
