nds weird boot up sound

this started yesterday, my nds boot up noise is producing a few octave higher pitch than usual.

sounds the same on headphones, but everything else is normal.

does this ever happen to anyone here? did i burn out some thing in the ds for playing it too much?

I have seen this on both mine and my son's DS, mine is a few years old import from Japan, and he got his on his birthday about 6 months ago.

It does it for a few days then goes back to normal. No idea what causes it.
