I think its a good PR move to make a statement about the athletes on steroids, and is good support of the SD native maris' record, but aside from that its kind of funny.

I personally think it's a joke. Steroids weren't even against the rules of baseball then, how can you take the records away? That said, steroids are a travesty for baseball, and the problem needs to be cleaned up.

Good. He is worthy of it, these roided up douche-bag's that pass as "baseball players" these days aren't.

Great move IMO, hope it passes

In my mind, Maris holds the record anyways.

With an asterisk...

Babe Ruth still holds it in my mind

with an asterisk, because he never played against black people AND they built yankee stadium so that he could hit it out.

face it, if you start questioning any records you pretty much have to question them all

"Sen. Heitkamp said he has gotten several messages wondering why the North Dakota Legislature was wasting its time on baseball. However, he felt obliged to speak out because he believes Maris' record was eclipsed by cheating."

Ruth was on steroids too!!! He used beer and hookers, the best steroids invented by mankind.
