word has it that Marcus Monk is calling a press conference... this is just rumors though..

Is it to announce his intentions of transferring also? Who knows!
Its too late to declare for the NFL draft, since that deadline was Monday.

he University of Arkansas Athletic programs have always been an asset to the state, the University and the people of Arkansas. Recently, the management of the athletic department by the Athletic Director and the Football Head Coach has cast a pall over this once proud institution to the point where the UofA Athletic Dept is now a liability rather than an asset.

While fans acknowledge the numerous contributions Coach Broyles has made over the years in his leadership of the athletic programs, the time for new leadership has arrived. Thank you Coach Broyles for all you have done. Please do not continue to overstay your effectiveness

Although fans also acknowledge the 2006 football season as an improvement on the field, we are disappointed and embarrassed by the lack of control off the field in football operations. Coach Nutt who has been allowed the longest tenure in college football by a BCS conference school without appearing in a BCS bowl game, does not provide the consistent leadership the football program needs in the very competitive Southeastern Conference.

We urge both of these men who have on numerous occasions vowed their love for the University of Arkansas and its athletic programs, to step down immediately.

Mustain re-enrolls at Arkansas - WTF?

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Mitch Mustain, Arkansas' highly recruited quarterback who asked for and received his release from the Razorbacks this week, has re-enrolled at the university for classes this semester.

Mustain, a freshman, re-enrolled for classes late Friday afternoon, said Steve Voorhies, manager of media relations for the university.

Neither Mustain nor his mother could immediately be reached for comment Friday.

Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt had cleared Mustain to seek a transfer, and Tulsa, Texas Tech and Texas-El Paso expressed interest in the quarterback.

Tulsa is where former Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn took a job as assistant head coach earlier this week. Malzahn was Mustain's high school coach at Springdale.

Nutt has left open the possibility for Mustain to return to the Razorbacks.

Its to late to apply for transfer to other schools. That'd be sweet if he transfered to Tech for summer/fall '07, then he'd be able to play for the 2008-2009 season, and 2009-2010.

Yeah but hes gotta stay enrolled in school and its way to late to transfer to any of the schools mentioned as they started or were supposed to start a week and a half ago. You cant just say, oh Im going to transfer. You have to apply for transfer and get admitted, most deadlines at major schools for transfering for the spring semester is Dec 1.

Heres the full article. It looks like he was talked out of transfering to Tulsa, and talked into exploring his options.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Mitch Mustain, Arkansas' highly recruited quarterback who asked for and received his release from the Razorbacks this week, has re-enrolled at the university for classes this semester, a school spokesman said.

Mustain, a freshman, re-enrolled for classes late Friday afternoon, said Steve Voorhies, manager of media relations for the university. Mustain will wait to transfer to another school after the spring semester. Returning to the Razorbacks is not an option, his mother told ESPN.com.

"He's just going to be a regular student, a regular kid," Beck Campbell told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach. "We sat down [Friday] morning and consulted with some people we trust. We didn't want him to go somewhere else and not have it be the right place. We just didn't have enough time to decide.

Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt earlier in the week had cleared Mustain to seek a transfer, and Tulsa, Texas Tech and UTEP have all expressed interest in the quarterback. Tulsa is where former Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn took a job as assistant head coach earlier this week. Malzahn was Mustain's high school coach at Springdale.

Mustain visited Tulsa and talked with other schools. Most schools already have begun spring semester classes, and Mustain had to be enrolled in classes in order to be eligible to play in 2008. Now, according to NCAA rules, he will have to sit out the 2007 season as a red-shirt. He will have three years of eligibility remainng.

Mustain also considered Louisville, but new Cardinals coach Steve Kragthorpe released a statement Thursday night saying Mustain was not an option for his program. The Cardinals are recruiting highly rated quarterback Matt Simms, the son of NFL great Phil Simms and brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Chris Simms.

Look like my Tigers will win the Boot prize next year. Did Ark lose 3 in a row to close out the season? <LSU, SEC Championship, Bowl game>
