NC - Bowles or Dole? Who do you think will win tonight?

I voted for Dole... I think she's got a better stance on the people.

Dole is likely to lose this seat, but it "trends" stay the way they are throw counting the votes, the republicans will pick up 2 seats, with another seat having a run off on Dec 7.
Bowles ran a REALLY dirty campaign. It made me sick. Mrs. Dole responded with some not so nice ads but damn nothing compared to Bowles' lies. I don't see how the man can keep a straight face with all the BS that was coming out of his mouth.
Bowles KNEW he could not win with respectable campaign so he goes to throwing BS around instead. Great strategy. I can't win on the issues so lets just bring BS into the picture to have a chance........

I cannot disagree with you, except that BOTH of them ran really dirty campaigns, Dole included.
At least Bowles is "really" from NC while Liddy was born here she only owns her house in Salisbury for no other reason than to be able to run for office here. Her and Bob don't go home every evening in their home in NC they live in Kansas. Bowles and his family actually live here and know whats happening....

Oh I totally agree. Most politicians are scum but Bowles only could win with his BS. As for Dole being a whore for a government seat, does she need one? No. I think she wants one because she thinks she can make a difference.
I wish we could get more everyday people in positions of power. As usual I am tired of politicians that only say what people want to hear to get elected.......
BTW, I am not saying Dole has better policies than Bowles. I don't like either one's policies BUT I don't think Dole is slime like Bowles......
I voted Bowles, but up until recently, I would have said Dole would win. I supported Dole in her presidential bid, but when she ran for senate, she did a 360 on some of her positions.
Actually if you looked Bowels did not run any negative ads(at least all the ones that played in Wilmington), NOW the north carolina dem. party did. All the ones Bowels had a say in and paid for were about him or counter ads to Doles. The ones you are talking about he had very little to no say in.
But that aside, I voted with Bowels as he AND his wife live AND work in NC. He was a investment banker, she ran the business side(textiles?). Dole has been in NC less time than I have, I lived here since I was 4(now a lot older)
I still think once all the heavy Rep. counties come in Dole will barely win, But I hope I am wrong.

Even after looking at all the ads, I believe that Libby's were the most evil. She was comparing Bowles to Clinton and saying that you couldn't trust Clinton, so you can't trust Bowles and more than once did her campaigns run "Just like Clinton" over and over again.That's just low

Heck I am more likely to vote for Bowels because he was in the White House with clinton. Clinton in office the worst thing we had to worry about was a D__K sucking intern.
Economy was great, world was pretty quite for the most part.

How could you blame her for taking that shot? I mean Billy Boy beat her husband I am currently unemployeed so while I wasn't applying to jobs or sitting on my computer, I watched tv and I had to sit through all the ads. I just found Bowles to hit lower. Now you can say they were by the Dem Party but that makes little difference to me. They both could have run a clean campaign and it is a shame they didn't but I feel that Bowles was the one that caused it to go down the drain. He through the low blow first and Dole knew she had to come back at him or people would get the wrong idea of what she was about.
Campaign on the damn issues not BS. Debates are what I would rather watch instead of commercials but I understand that they have to get to the ignorant people that vote with stupid BS commercials on tv.
BTW: I am VERY pleased that this thread has remained civil. When I originally posted I thought it would turn into a stupid flame war. I respect anyone that got out and voted what they believed even if you didn't know the issues. At least I feel that you have a right to complain when Doles or Bowles start screwing stuff up if you voted

We had terrorists attacks on the US with Clinton in office. He just didn't go crap about it.....
As for the economy please tell me you understand that it had NOTHING to do with Clinton. He had nothing to do with it. He was just in office at the right time.
