I just had what is not an uncommon problem 9as it turns out). I created a player and had a career built up and was having fun.

The save file corrupted itself and guess what. There is no fix. 2.5 seasons in and I lost everything. And there is not even a backup file. They have one database file. JUST ONE. This is bullshit.

I want to find the software lead that came up with this idea and slam his head into a wall and watch his blood splatter all over it.

Well, two days ago I deleted the corrupt file on my 360. And the game was basically trying to force me to create a new player from scratch. I got pissed and walked away from my 360 for a few days. I just fired up NBA2K14 as my anger has passed and to my amazement, my player is back! I can only guess that my player gets backed up to the NBA2K14 servers and it was just downloaded.

Not sure what exactly happened but this is F'ing awesome.

I wish they would document this somewhere so people like me know what is about to happen and why.

The gameplay is amazing, the game itself is pure trash. The save system especially. After the bullshit that is 2k14, I will NEVER buy another game that has a single player mode and utilizes only online cloud saving capabilities. If that severely limits me in games, so be it. But this save system is complete bullshit.

Yeah, I gave up on 2K Sports as a whole last year. After the botched MLB 2K13 crap and the ridiculous VC implementation, I wrote them off. I didn't play the games as much as I intended anyway, and seeing as they discontinued MLB 2K completely, they offer just one franchise (NBA) that interests me AT ALL, and it's not worth the bad things I hear about it from people.

Well, it's cloud or the hard drive on the 360. But ya, it sucks enough having to wait to talk to the VC server all the time.

I'm mostly pissed off that they don't create backups of game saves so when a file corrupts that an older version is still there.

Pathetic.

So, I won't be buying another one of these games till they realize their error.

I agree but I want to know how you will find this out ahead of time.

In other words how do you figure out which games save locally?

PS4 doesn't give the option of doing hard drive saves, only cloud. I had a friend over a month ago with the specific intention of playing some NBA2k. We had saved rosters that we had put together we liked playing against each other with. Guess what, it took 15 minutes to load a single save. Nevermind the fact that we had to change some rosters which required loading, saving the changes, exiting the screen and re-loading. A 45 minute process at least, just to play the god damn game. I was fed up with it after that.

This happened to me too, the only thing I tried that worked was creating a new career, then backing out and deleting the career I just made, and my original career file was magically fixed.

I wish I knew that could happen.

If this isn't resolved in next years version, I will never buy this game again. The thing is, I want to create a new character but I don't want to deal with the headache of another corrupted character.

I had a pretty cool center that was fun to play with. 7' 2" and 240 pounds. Max is 7' 2" and 250 pounds. I turned him into a hardcore inside guy. I think he had an 87 overall rating when my file crapped out on me.

Might do it again but with a shorter player that is 250 pounds. Might make some sort of power forward that its 6' 8" and a bruiser that can bomb 3 pointers. No inside game though. Tinkering with the short(6' 0") and fat guy concept also.

I made a total of 4 characters before I got one that hasn't corrupted yet. Athletic small forward with an 89 rating overall. My biggest problem is every character I made I got drafted to the 76ers and they are garbage this year. Nerlens Noel is absolute crap in 2k14. Also the career mode is neat with the cutscenes and stuff.... until you have to make 5 players to keep one from corrupting. They should have a skip button ughhhh. I would honestly rather play 2k13 with the rosters and graphics of 2k14

This happened to me too. Rookie season a 88 overall and it corrupted some how. I had to start a new my player and im really having a hard time playing the game because this bullshit will probably happen again
My save didnt get magically fixed tho like yours its gone

Atleast you were in season one. I was reading some forums online where people have gone through many seasons. One guy said he was one milestone away from reaching the hall of fame and his game got corrupted. Not sure what it takes but he must have been 10+ seasons in.

The thing that sucks is that there is no way to backup these game saves.
