I know this post was tongue-in-cheek, but I'll bite anyway. I suggest looking up Zydrunas Ilgauskas' free throw percentage for the regular season.Originally posted by: Hammerhead
The free throw problem that has plagued many centers including Shaq isn't with the hands. It's with the feet. Since centers are usually the tallest players, it's safe to say that if everything was proportional, they probably have the biggest feet.
Now when you shoot a free throw, you would normally walk up to the line, and get as close to the line as possible. If you have smaller feet, you are actually closer to the basket than someone with larger feet.
So shaq's, problem...as well as other center's problem is that because of their big feet, they are actually further away from the basket than everyone else.

Why would they be a lot smaller? A person who's 5 inches taller than me would most definitely have bigger hands than someone who's 30 lb. heavier.
Do you even watch basketball? Shaq is one of the best Centers ever.

I'm wondering why he can't make those free throws. Is it really because he is cock-eyed or is his hand-eye coordination from that far from the hoop suck that badly?
Have you ever had one of those plastic basketball hoops that you hang over a door and play on? It's pretty hard to make a shot from 15 feet consistently on one of those. The problem is, that the ball they give you is proportional to the hoop, but it is still a small ball. It's hard to shoot the same shot everytime when your hand is so big relative to the ball.

He isn't that great a basketball player on the professional level, he's just tall, and that's all you need in B-ball?
