Pacific;

Lakers
Suns
Warriors
Clippers
Kings

Northwest;

Nuggets
Blazers
Jazz
Timberwolves
Thunder

*Every team but the Suns are on the West Coast in the Pacific Division.
*Blazers are the ONLY Northwest tream west of the Rockies.

None of the Teams in our Division are a even regional rival :confused: The Clippers should go North to Seattle and the Northwest Division needs a rename.

I have considered all the facts regarding your suggestion, and have arrived at a conclusion: No.

dissolve the eastern conference. take some of their good players (like 5-7). send the rest to the unemployment line. win

Did not know that SLC was was east of the Rockies :confused:

584 miles from Sacramento to Portland
757 miles from Sac to Phoenix

I don't think Phoenix is the odd team in the division based on its proximity to the CA teams.

In order to balance the division out the odd team out is Portland and they should stay in the NW and let the Pacific conference stand pat.

Cali is the most populace state in the nation - they deserve all their teams and should probably have 1-2 more.

With the emergence of Orlando the east now has 3-viable teams and the east has a better record against the western teams this yar.

SLC is close enough to being "in" the Rockies. Portland is most definately the odd man out in the Northwest (either that or ALL the other teams are)

All the Cali teams are West of the Sierras, moving the Clippers to Seattle Balances the West Coast and remains appropriately named the Pacific Division.

Phoenix, SLC and Denver are regionally close (4 corners) the other 2 are further East, all the other Northwest teams are at least 2 states away....only Utah even touches a State that is geographically in the Northwest.

The Western Conference execs are considering a slightly different alignment, but chooses the Pacific the same as I do (other than moving the Clips to Seattle) which makes more sense also Link
