Kidd is a horrible shooter. He was exposed in the finals, missing 77 of 121 shots. No way Dallas exchanges Nash and Kidd because Nash is an all-star, not some scrub. Some of you guys really have Kidd overrated!

That however, would take the Mavs from being a multi-weapon team to being a Kidd/Nowitzki team. Much easier to defend than Nash/Finley/Nowitzki/Van Exel

I don't think they'd give up Finley. But Nash and Lafrentz? In a second.

You have to understand there are two sides to the game, and Kidd is a better defender than Nash and Van Excel put together.

I say that if the Nets cant keep Kidd then they should at least try to get Nash.

That's my point. If you were the Nets, would you rather have Nash and Lafrentz (although he's got a crappy contract) or Bibby and Hedo, and the knowledge that Hedo might not resign next year?

It's a tough call.

If I were the Nets I would rather have Nash then Bibby on my team. But if all the Nets are able to get are backups then I would much rather have Bobby Jackson then Nick Van Exel.

Why does everyone have Nash on the trading block? Cuban and Nelson haven't said anything about trading him. The Mavs would more quickly give up Van Exel than Nash.

yup free agent.

he'll be signed to a max contract whereever he goes.

There arent many teams who can afford him straight up (San Antoniio and Nets being 2 of them who can). For trades, it would be a sign and trade deal. The nets sign him for his max contract and then trade him somewhere for approximately equal contract amounts.
