NBA to do away with 3 pointers until late in the game?

Wtf?

What kind of assed rule are they thinking about now?

They either leave it as it is or ban it. They can't allow this to be only scored in the last 5minutes or last quarter. That would be total BS.

Steve Kerr, who made a record 45% of the three-pointers he attempted in his career, said he supports the elimination of the long-range shot.

"I kind of liked the three-pointer before every player on every team was a three-point shooter," Kerr said. "It's being shot way too often these days and it's hurting the game. I wouldn't mind seeing an experiment that gets rid of it."

wtf? He scores 45% of his 3pts and then he says that? Now it is just because they all worked hard to bring up their 3pt %'s.

i would have thought the 'i must slam dunk' attitude would be hurting the game, not the skill of shooting the ball. i mean... does anybody remember the olympics?

The only thing that will encourage penetration is by playing less interior defense! GOD DAMN IT! Don't they get it yet? Player are not going to challenge the rim if they see 5 people occupying underneath the rim.

WTF!?

That's gotta rank up there with the most stupid ideas. Either get rid of it altogether, or leave it.... This nonsense about getting 3 during the last part of the game, but 2 at other times is rediculous. What's next, getting more than 2 points for a stylish dunk? Perhaps giving more points for a shot if your team is behind and you're playing on your home court?? Geez.... Morons!

There's nothing to be done to save basketball. It was only interesting when it was a team sport and they actually enforced the rules (traveling, fouls).

Now that it's turned into a long series of sequential one-on-one games with dunk after dunk, it's a total yawner.

The NBA has gone Downhill since Jordan really left the game. It's only about the money, etc. No more Duels like Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird, etc.

They should make any shot within a certain distance of the hoop one-pointers, make two-pointers a bit closer than the current three-point line, make a 4 or 5 point line very close to center court, and loosen goal-tending rules

That'd kill the height-advantage and add some strategy to the game

that would make the cavaliers one hell of a strong team then.

cuz they have no outside shooters.

Not on ESPN yet. or NBA.com... I'd take this "NY Daily News" tabloid article with a grain of salt.

This is kinda unfair to the teams that build themselves around 3 point shooters.
