Career stats of 8 pts 6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks...not too shabby. A lot better than most people think.

too high of expecations IMO. Of course he didn't play right out of college because he had to do some missionary work for the Mormon Church if i remember correctly. He never "filled out" and was too weak and lanky to be any kind of dominate player.

Not good enough for the 2nd pick in the draft.

Yeah he definately was no David Robinson.

From ESPN:

Bradley will retire with career averages of 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, having led the league in blocked shots twice.

Well, at least, he led the league twice in blocked shots.

While I agree that the expectations were very high, he never did what he needed to do to come close to his potential. If he just built up his strength and mass a little, it would've helped him tremendously. And, possibly, if his legs got stronger, he might not have the knee injury.

Great. Call me an idiot, but I bought a boat load of Shawn Bradley rookie cards. I thought he would be the next David Robinson.

I guess I should go through my closet, find my Bradley cards and burn em.

Semi-good players taken after Shawn Bradley in the draft.
Of course, all of them are hurt now.

Penny Hardaway
Jamal Mashburn
Allan Houston
Sam Cassell
Nick Van Exel

Now that I think of it, that was a pretty crappy yr for the draft.
