NBA Live 08 or NBA 2K8?

So since the debacle that was Live 07, I have been a 2K7 fan and got my copy of 2K8 for PS3 and I like it. Trying to prove a point that Live 08 is better, my brother bought Live 08 for PS3 and we started playing. Here's my observations:

NBA 2K8:
Pros:
Faster, more uptempo gameplay.
Nice, intuitive free throw mechanisms utilizing sixaxis

Cons
Stealing passes are so easy its borderline ridiculous.
A little too easy to pull off ridiculous dunks in traffic
annoying action replay that breaks the tempo of the match, (this can be disabled)

NBA Live 08
Pros:
great graphics and detail
slower, more realistic gameplay

Cons:
Laggy, especially on the inbounds following a made shot
backboard is buggy, layups made from behind the backboard still miraculously go through the backboard and in, shots bouncing over the backboard are called inbounds even though it is physically impossible to not have hit the top of the backboard or scoreboard.
phantom fouls - you get called for a foul when the opponent is going for a layup even though your not within five feet of the shooter.

What do you guys think? Anything I missed?

my pick is 2k8, the lagging in Live is ridiculous, it just seems like EA didn't take the time to debug the game before releasing it. while Live edges 2K8 slightly on the graphics side, the other problems it has affects game play so much that i'd prefer 2K8

I played Live 08 and 2k8 demo for PS3 and went with 2k8.

2k8:
-More realistic, player needs to initiate offense
-More dynamic arena, but horrible players up close
-Better crowd
-Horrible menus
-A lot of moves

Live 08 (based on demo)
-Better player models, but arenas aren't as dynamic as 2k8
-Better menu
-Less realistic, a bit arcadey, good for pick up and play
-Lacks detailed controls a la 2k8, but moves are easier to pull

After playing both demos for the 360, I ended up buying Live 08. The gameplay is much better for Live and I've been hooked on the game ever since 🙂

depends if you want a sim or an arcady game. i think the ai in 2k8 is amazing. 2k7 ai was suspect but i'm very very impressed with the ai in 2k8. the animations are also ridiculously awesome.

How's dynasty in live 08? I've been pretty happy with 2k8's, having options like 3-team trades, player/team options, team chemistry, staff hirings, etc... definitely raises the experience for me.

I am playing association mode in 2k8 and I am getting my ass spanked. My team is only 8-8. I did the draft option so all the teams are fairly balanced with exception of a few which were positioned in top 3. I have McGrady and Ben Wallace as my stars, but I regret picking Big Ben since offense is a much better attribute than defense. Anyways, it's been fun since I welcome the challenge.
