YOU ARE RIGHT. I mean, it's so easy for any coach to win 9 championships, huh?

come on, even the worse coach can coach the chicago bulls to the championships when they had jordan in his prime. hmmmm probably a combination of PJ and MJ.

all with teams with arguably the top players in the league at the time. yes, you do have to be a competent coach to win the titles, but i think there were questions as to how he would fare with a team without the best player in the league. i'm not discounting what he's done, i'm just curious to see how he handles a sub par team.

now he's on a team that didn't make the playoffs last season. i'm interested to see how he will handle the team. he's still got Kobe, so i guess we'll see.

Sorry Jhill but the action is in here...;)

This is the best thing that EVAR happened to Kobe. Kobe won't get away with his selfish sh!t anymore, and the lakers will start winning again.

Everyone loves a winner, which is Kobe's ticket to redeeming his image. I guarantee you, it will happen.

The real question is do lakers players still want to bolt, because if they stay and the lakers get a bigman, they will make waves next year.

I hope he trades Kobe. I'll take Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen easily

Lots of people will be curious, me as well, but given how he is a master at putting people on the same page, I have no doubts he would be far more successful with the same lakers talent as they were last year.

And how will Kobe react? He will be phil's biatch, willingly, because he knows phil's leadership and success is his ticket out of the doghouse.

It will be interesting and a trade could be on the plate, but a Kobe on the same page with phil is better for the lakers than a lewis or allen on the same page...he can do more and knows the offense. I personally think kobe will be kept and they'll coexist together happily ever after.

I love lewis' skills, and tho I think allen is a selfish punk who whines too much about getting enough shots, all when his 3pt average is worse than 50th in the league.

I haven't a clue why there was so much speculation over where Phil Jackson is going to coach. He is not going to work out in L.A. Sure he has 9 rings, but with what? Jordan & Pippen, then Shaq & Kobe. How is he going to do without the top notch nba talent on his side? Can Phil Jackson really do what, say, Scott Skiles did for the Bulls this year?

And besides, the Bulls could have won those championships even if they had stayed with Doug Collins as head coach.

We'll see how this fares out. Kobe will probably kiss so much ass we won't be able to tell if it's shit on his lips or just a blemish on his face.

I don't see how this change will bring the Lakers back to the top, though I would be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs.

the bulls couldn't win a championship with basically the same team before phil

**Off-topic**
As an avid fan of the Sonics I can clearly state you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Ray whining about getting shots. If anything, he whines about getting more scoring help from Lewis and the bench when he gets double-teamed.

*On topic*
I don't think the Lakers have enough depth on their roster to trade for a quality role player without reducing the overall talent level of the team. You would have to give up people like Butler, George and Odom to attract a big name.
