Carlos Arroyo, the onetime Jazz starter relegated to the bench after a dispute with coach Jerry Sloan, is expected to be traded to Detroit sometime today, The Salt Lake Tribune
has learned.
In exchange for the fourth-year guard, the Jazz will receive veteran center Elden Campbell and a future first-round draft pick.
Campbell likely will never play for Utah. The Jazz are expected to release him to make room for Andrei Kirilenko. Kirilenko is returning after eight weeks on the injured list with a sprained right ankle.
Arroyo, who started 71 games last season as the successor to John Stockton, had played only two minutes in the Jazz's last five games.

ouch, get traded then waived. poor Elden.
edit: here's the link
Actually, maybe the Warriors can pick up Elden :)

About time The Jazz got Kirilenko back. They've been on a slide ever since he went down with an injury.

well he was in the doghouse in Utah, almost no playing time. I think he'll definitely play more in detroit.

word is, the Jazz will release Elden to clear up room for AK47's return.

unless the Bobcats (one of the few teams with enough cap space) decide to pick him up (unlikely, given their push for youth), the Pistons will pick up Elden again. much like the Pistons did with Lindsey Hunter in the Boston/Sheed 3-way deal.

basically the deal will be a future 1st round pick for Arroyo.

imo, Joe Dumars is a mastermind. if Arroyo turns out to be a solid contributer, Dumars should win GM of the year. Antonio McDyess is turning out to be a steal of free agency.
