What do you think about Manu Ginobli! I forsee San Antonio as the champs but I know it is too early to tell with just one game outta the way.

I quote the legend...

"We just try to play the right way" - Larry Brown

I quote Mr Big Shot and last years finals MVP....

"We been down in this foxhole together before and we know how to respond"

-Chauncey Billups

Now you idiot go back to your little hole.

figures. you illini fan ;) Pistons just like to make it hard on themselves. THINK about it. They started the game great. 17-4 run. They just collapsed and didn't get help from the bench. They will respond on Sunday night. I will wager on that!!

Its going back to DEEEE-TROIT 1-1

There's no quicker way to show ignorance than spouting cliques like they're personal wisdom.

Defense wins championships!!!! I'm an NBA Expart like Steven A Smith! Play the game the RIGHT way.

-Amp

p.s. The 'right way' playing Spurs were swept by the Lakers last season. Detroit was in serious trouble before Wade was injured. Same way the Lakers injuries (and Kobe) saved the Pistons last year.

But keep on trolling you NBA expert you.

last season's Spurs were mentally weak. after Derek Fisher's buzzer beater, they collapsed and couldn't recover.

the pistons had their share of injuries as well. maybe not as serious as Wade's, but they were playing hurt. NEARLY EVERYONE is playing hurt at this time of year.

btw, defense does win. i don't care how cliche it is. ask phoenix and dallas how their postseason has been.

dammit i was just about to say Obi-Wan Ginobli. There were these two hot chicks in tube tops showing some Ginobli sign, but I was too busy paying attention to something else rather reading it :D

oh man i loved that one play by Tony Parker where he ran in a circle under the bucket, then threw a layup only to get it goaltended by benny wallace.

My mistake. I must have been thinking of the 2001 and 2002 playoffs where the Spurs won one game total

I thought Detroit's defense did a decent job. It's the lack of offense that killed them. That and getting blown out in the 4th quarter. I really couldn't figure out why the Detroit bench was getting so many minutes. Gosh, their bench players looked horrible.

Why? Because he supposedly kicked off the other drama queen from his team?

Yeah there's not enough room for two drama queens in the Lakers... :D

since someone PMed me asking which Pistons players had injuries during the playoffs and stated the Pistons were "overrated", i figured i'd share my response :)

this playoff series, Richard Hamilton was playing with a bruise in his calf. it was reported that during the last 3 games of the Miami series, the bruise had finally healed. Check out his stats, his shots were finally falling during the last few games. Tayshaun Prince sprained his ankle during the playoffs. He's still playing tentative now, though i'm not sure it's because of the ankle. Ben Wallace has has bone spurs in his feet that he's been playing with the latter half of the season.

last season Rasheed Wallace was playing with planar faceitis (sp?) during the playoffs.

were the Heat playing with hurt players? sure. did it give the Pistons the advantage? possibly. does it detract from making the NBA Finals two years straight? hardly.

you don't win a championship based on luck. maybe a few games during the playoffs or maybe even a series. but 4 rounds, 16 games aren't won based on luck.

the pistons have made the Eastern Conference Finals for 3 years straight. They've made the NBA Finals 2 years straight. They thrashed the seemingly unbeatable Lakers last season to win an NBA title.

overrated? hardly.

qft.

I started the post season as a Spurs hater because I think duncan is BOOORRRIIINGGG, but ginobli and parker are terribly fun to watch. I've been rooting for the Pistons all playoffs long, but now I don't care who wins, I just want a 7 game series. These are definately the best two teams of this season.

best play of the game: Billups breakaway and behind the back fake for a layup. I can see the Pistons coming back (I am rooting for them) but they NEED a win on Sunday. What hurt them is the missed shots. That is what hurt them against Miami. Also they need to not get so frustrated. Yes, the officiating was lousy. they need ot play on. I was seriously impressed with the Pistons in the 1st quarter. If they are able to play like that, I think they will win.
