Both are $5 on Steam. I had heard 11 has better gameplay but 12 has more features and also better mod support and roster mods.

Anybody with experience on these games?

Hell I'd just spend the $10 more and get 2K14 right now for $15.

Roster mods can work ok, the problem in my experience is that they don't accurately model the contract or free agency, which is a big deal if you're playing a franchise.

There was another discussion (on here I think?) that said 2k13 is the sweet spot. Players said that they changed controls (for the worse) in 2k14 and all in all 2k13 is a better game.

I have 700hrs on 2k12(i am not ashamed lol.) It was a superior game over 2k11. 2k13's/2k14's controls and gameplay bother me too much(but maybe because I haven't put time into it.) All in All, 2k12 hands down.

From my research across multiple forums mostly nba-live and operationsports it seems most hardcore fans of the series consider 2k12 to be not as good as 2k11 and 2k13, although it still has really good scores and an awful lot of roster mods available, more than other years it looks like. Anyways, I decided to go with 2k11 because I don't care about having the most up to date roster, and a lot of people are saying 2k11 is a must-have basketball game. I'll probably get 2k13 during summer sale for the expanded classics rosters it has over 2k11, that is, if I find myself enjoying the 2k11 gameplay. Right now I'm having a hard time finding the sweet spot in shooting. Kobe has a funky release or something, it's hard to get the timing right.
