NB sits at 52C idle...is it bad?

Probably you have a MOBO that the Northbridge Heatsink is not down correctly...

I would pull the MB and look at it... Typically they have some Grey thermal crap that I always replace with AS Ceramique....

Idle should be under 50C unless your Ambients are very high ! but that is right in the right range if you are stressing it using TAT or Prime Or OCCT.

What MOBO ? ETC ? NVIDIA Northbridges will generally run much hotter than Intel Chipsets.... Except with the newer X38 & X48 Chipsets.

It's the DFI P35-T2RS which is know for its hot running NB. But is 52 TOO hot?

mine runs at 70C, DP35DP which is intel's P35 board and ti is like that per design. It has been like that full year, no stability issues.
