NB fan on NF7-S rattling

at first I thought it was nothing, or maybe it was dust. after dusting out the machine and waiting a few days it is still rattling. should I be overly concerned? is there any quick maintence I can apply to the fan to extend its life?

Unfortuantely the NF7-s NB fans are known to do that. Best bet is to replace it.
Mine started doing that after a month. I tried contacting Abit support for RMA and they wanted me to send in the entire mobo instead of just the fan. The shipping would outweight the cost of buying a new NB fan.

nah, just put the old one back in if you need to RMA it or something....

Same exact thing happened on my AN7. Pissed me off SOOO much. Brand new mobo, damn rattling fan. I actually ripped it off in a fit of rage, and since I broke the specially sized screws that held it on, I haven't been able to attach my Zalman silent cooler. So now I have it sitting on the northbridge with a little thermal compound on it, waiting for me to use thermal adhesive to make it permanent.
