Good article...I freaking hate the layout.

Cliffs:
Doctor goes to Iraq
Hero stuff
Doctor comes home

you can do "print this" (bottom of page) and view the nice clean print ready version.

Not only did he volunteer to go to Iraq, but he volunteered to setup a medical center right in the middle of the fighting zone so he can save more soldiers...

That guy has more guts than I could ever dream of having.
I salute and respect him.

I like how he doesn't pretend to be Mr. Ironman and wasn't scared... he admitted at times he wanted to hide and just cry, but decided to move forward for the sake of others...

sigh, Marines != soldiers. (A little pet peave of mine)

No doubt 1/8 loves this guy. My unit (and every unit that I know of) hold thier Docs and corpsman in very high regard. If you ever want to REALLY piss off a Marine battalion, mess with thier corpsmen.

People should make a TV series or movie out of this theme... like 'Over There' but follow around a battlion surgeon...

last night when i went home i stopped at the grocery store for some stuff and while standing at the checkout i notcied on the cover of newsweek is this guy and his story. the story in NewsWeek is more detailed and after reading that this doc should definatly be put in for a higher medal that a bronze star. I have known people to get the bronze star for the stupidist crap and what this guy did went above and beyond a bronze star.
