mp4pda and even the new Google maps smartphone app always had gps capability, but that requires a reciever and the like, but this one is tight as hell, and triangulates your position using your radio and nearby towers...it even show you the towers on the map:D

It was about 1/8mile off from my location (pretty damn good) and it allows you to search for local stuff which is pretty badass..

I don't know about their pay stuff (not really interested) but the free one is badass

1/8 mile accuracy?

That's like using a yardstick to measure paint thickness. :p

verizon has a tracking function they already sell... they say it is accurate to about 25 meters, thats when i told them of the worktrax program on our sprint phones. it tracks them to within 3 feet, and will show their locations (and history) on a web based map. it also calculates their current speed, and trends the historic speed as well. as long as our field guys have their phones turned on, we can see where they are and how fastg they are moving. oh, it works with ruggedized motorola handsets and the standard motorola flip phones. any phone with the built in GPS thing.

is this a all in one phone? or just software for a phone?

packaging implies all-in-one phone ?

It works on the Treo 700wx, but sometimes it won't make the com port and requires a soft reset...
