Navigation Disc for Dodge in-dash factory system

I just recently purchased an '08 Ram 1500 w/ the in-dash 6 disc CD/MP3 player and navigation system. They included the navigation DVD, but forgot to give me the NAVIGATION manual. I can't seem to figure out how to load the DVD into the receiver. Is there some combination of buttons I must press to get it to load?

Thanks for the .pdf, but I already have the Owner's Manual. There should be a seperate Navigation Manual for this system. That's the one they failed to give me.

Hmm.. Some how I must have been mistaken...

My guess is you just simply load it into the CD player and it goes in either slot 1 or slot 6.

Tried that. Only gives a disc read error. It appears there is a separate slot for the navigation DVD. But just hitting the load button while in the navigaion set-up doesn't work.

PS: Having the Owner's Manual in .pdf is useful. Thanks.

Some cars have a separate reader for the navdisks like under the seat or something or something funky like that

Well, I cant find anything useful on line. Id say call the dealer and they should be able to tell you in about 10 seconds. Though it would probably be much better just going to the dealership and getting the copy you should have already got.

My NAV system DVD player is in the trunk (I've a car). Look under the seats on in one of the storage compartments for a separate DVD player somewhere or call the dealer.

Only thing I saw on line was to Insert the NAV CD in the Radio CD slot
It will say NAV CD inserted .. select AM2 ... press Seek ... it should then load
the cd

There is a cover over the nav disc slot......on the bottom right side of the radio you will see a small tab barely visible unless you look real close....use a toothpick or something similar to move the tab towards the left..then pull it gently and a the cover will come off...
turn the key on and insert the disc..reinstall the cover... The disc will load and update automatically.

Brilliant! I tried moving this tab to insert the disc, but didn't know which way to go (left, right, press in, pull out, etc.) and didn't want to break it. Now that I know it goes left, the rest should be easy. Thanks
