I need a bootable NAV cd that is up to date to boot a infected system with. I have systemworks 2002 which is bootable for antivirus but I need newer definitions on it. Is there a file in the up to date nav file of My uninfected system that I can transfer to my systemworks cd to make my cd up to date. Then I can repair the other system.

Can't help you with NAV... the defs change all the time...

What I do when I'm called to fix a virus... You can try Trend AV Housecall. It's an online virus scanner. It's free, online - but it's what I call a post-mortem scanner-- It will tell you that you already have a virus, but it won't keep you from getting the next one. Since it's online, it's easy enough to do onsite, and it's always up-to-date... This way you don't have to keep up with trying to update a cd everytime you wanna fix a sick puter...

Then, I install AVG and teach them how to keep it up to date... It too is free, but more importantly, it's on all the time, scanning programs, downloads, email, everything... And if you keep it up to date, it's easy to use.
