Anyond else playing this game? Its a lot of fun and if anyone else plays I could put their usernames on here.

Heres a description of it:

" Natural Selection 2 is an immersive, multiplayer shooter that pits aliens against humans in a strategic and action-packed struggle for survival. It seamlessly combines a shooter/FPS gameplay with a strategy (RTS) game."

Its a pretty unique game, with some really cool elements. Its a good change to current FPSs.

I purchased it last year during the holiday sale. Put in around 100 hours into it. Love the game, just haven't had time to go back to it and I have been wanting too.

I was an early backer in 2009. I played it a lot last year when it launched but haven't played over the past 6 months. Lost interest. Good studio though. Nice custom engine.

Got into this game by Humble Bundle as well. Amazing game. I do wish that sentries had scalable upgrades, balanced by increasing cost per upgrade level. Or perhaps a different type of sentry with a new power source.

I got it with the humble bundle. I've only played maybe 5 hours and still don't know what the hell is going on most of the time.

First, don't worry, I think that's normal. I have played maybe 25 hours so far and I am still learning new tips. 5 hours is not enough time to get the game down well. It's like 10 matches, right?

Second, play the tutorials. You probably did this so do it again. Or go to the next step. Play a practice match as both marines and aliens against bots. Make sure you are the commander in each match. It will confuse the hell out of you but you will get a better grasp of the flow of this game. And learn never to be commander.

Third, the minimap is your friend. I like to scout during the pre-match phase when the commanders are not selected yet. Some maps are far more intuitive than others.

Fourth, make sure you are playing on the "rookie" servers. The ones highlighted in green. Your own player name is highlighted in green for the first few hours when you start playing. It disappears after a while even if you are still playing like a rookie. Tell your team that you are new and they do a good job of helping.

Fifth (just shut up already, Revolution!), accept that you will always be somewhat confused at the game. The phrase "easy to get into but hard to master" is a cliche but it definitively applies here. Have some fun and ask questions. That's the best you can do.
