Oboy, almost that time of year again where we here in GA get raped by the gas companies. I'm so excited about this...really I am. And to make matters worse, now the state/feds are going to step in and help out elderly/low income households with their bills. While I certainly believe no one should be without heat in the winter (yes, it does get cold down here), this means that the gas co's post record profits (again) and we get indirectly stuck with the bills for those who cannot pay ON TOP OF the absurd bills we already get each month. For reference, it was not at all unheard of for a few folks I know to have $600+ bills last January. It's pretty clear to me that deregulation (at least in this instance) is CRAP and nothing is really being done about it. How about dealing with the deregulation gouging so that we don't have thousands unable to pay their absurdly inflated gas bills?!?!:|:|
