Native Linux games

Just played the demo of Quake 4. I think I might go out and buy it. Wish more games would be made in OpenGL and ported to linux.

yeah, my recent switch made me realize gaming is about the only reason I support Windows, as everthing else has a good equivalent on linux. So i might as well support gaming on my linux box, it should be good enough to run ET, and UT2004.

UT 99/03/04
Doom 3
Quake I/II/III/IV
Legends
Armagetron
Gate 88
Darwinia
Army Ops
Savage
Neverwinter Nights
RTCW

So there was one thing that made Windows better and you still switched? That doesn't make sense.

well i never said i only had one computer. also, most things on linux are free, so i guess that's one thing that makes linux better. and the added stability. guess that's 2 things.

You can follow my post history... and know I am well entrenched in Linux. However, Stability is, like windows, in the user. Service Pack 2, and a semi-competant computer user, makes Windows a better choice for an operating system you are willing to pay for than any linux distro on the market. Linux has diversity, untapped security, aggressive upgrade/patch cycles, top notch development community, price and speed. Windows has only bread crumbs of each but nothing beats free imo.

I was actually refering to stability as compared to win98 (what my linux box had before). I agree, XP is very stable. I have never had to do a reinstall in the 3 years i've been running it. But I really like the entire philosophy and development model of the open source movement, so I'd like to support it in anyway i can. One of the easiest would be to use it.
